FSC Hosted an Information Session on Cyber Security in the Securities Industry on November 17th, 2021

As an effort to supervise the implementation and enforcement of information security measures in the securities sector, the Financial Examination Bureau (FEB), on behalf of the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), invited Information Security and Information Technology Department Heads and computer auditors from 24 securities firms to participate in “Cyber Security in the Securities Industry Information Session” on November 17th, 2021, helping to raise the companies’ awareness of information security risks and protective measures.

The session started with FSC’s Department of Information Management and Securities and Futures Bureau (SFB) giving respective explanations for Financial Cyber Security Action Plan and Emphasis on Information Security Supervision in the Securities Industry, followed by the FEB’s brief on primary non-conformance categories summarized from recent findings in targeted examinations for the Securities Industry’s Information Technology Management to allow participating companies better understand the FSC’s supervisory perspective, causes of non-conformance, and optimal industrial practices as a collective effort to urge those companies to strengthen information security and corresponding defensive measures.
