NPL Ratio for Domestic Banks as of the End of November 2017

The Financial Supervisory Commission (the FSC) has released that total outstanding loans extended by the current 38 domestic banks increased by NT$23.6 billion (US$0.79 billion) as compared to the number of previous month and amounted to NT$26,996.3 billion (US$899.58billion) at the end of Nov. 2017. Meanwhile, the NPLs of these banks totaled at NT$81.3 billion (US$2.71 billion) which increased by NT$1.9 billion (US$0.06 billion) from NT$79.4 billion (US$2.65 billion) at the end of the previous month.
  The average NPL ratio of the 38 banks increased by 0.01 percentage points and therefore rose to a figure of 0.30% from 0.29% of the previous month. The coverage ratios of allowances for NPLs decrease by 6.42 percentage points and therefore fell to a figure of 457.64% from 464.06 % of the previous month.
  The asset quality of domestic banks continuously remained manageable according to the above figures as of the end of Nov. 2017.  The FSC will request those banks with higher NPL ratios to undertake measures to improve asset quality and financial structure on an ongoing basis.
