Outstanding SME Loans by Domestic Banks as of March 2017

The Financial Supervisory Commission has released that up until the end of March 2017, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks amounted to NT$5,736 billion. The amount increased by NT$24 billion as compared to the amount at the end of February 2017.
Up until the end of March 2017, the loans extended to SMEs by domestic banks accounted for 59.09% and 61.83% of total loans extended to total enterprises and private enterprises respectively, both increased by 0.23 percentage points respectively as compared to the end of February 2017. In March 2017, the average NPL ratio of the SME loans was 0.44% and decreased by 0.01 percentage points as compared to the end of February 2017.
The Financial Supervisory Commission will encourage domestic banks to promote SME loans with proper risk control and management. The FSC will endeavor to foster a favorable banking environment for Small and Medium Enterprises.
